What are the advantages of HPL coated furniture panels made of plywood poplar?
Short answer: The campervan furniture boards, offered here, are light! This saves fuel and you can load more. Chipboard or MDF furniture boards are too heavy for campervan conversions. This is not only noticeable in the permitted payload, it is also relevant to safety. A motorhome upgraded with HPL-coated plywood poplar furniture board is the lighter alternative. In addition, the screws are fixed in the material very well, so even with extraction force, the screws remain in place.
Why do the camper furniture boards have a thickness of 15mm?
Campervan furniture boards with 13mm thickness would be sufficient for small cabinets. For large doors and complete conversions, the 15mm campervan furniture board has proven itself. If you build your campervan yourself, these campervan furniture boards stay in shape and do not buckle. Even with larger temperature fluctuations sufficient rigidity of the poplar plywood or furniture board is guaranteed.
What does HPL mean?
The name HPL comes from the English: High Pressure Laminate. Various synthetic resins are used to impregnate a carrier material made of paper, cardboard or fabric. The resulting paper is pressed in the case of our furniture boards with a poplar plywood board . With the addition of various resins, pressure and temperature everything is connected to a stable furniture board. These campervan furniture boards can withstand short-term high temperatures without any problems. The resulting surface of the furniture panels is easy to care for, easy to clean and withstands UV light. Scratch resistance, longevity and variety characterize these campervan furniture boards and they are therefore perfect for the individual campervan conversion. .Why "only" 0.6 mm HPL coating?
A thicker HPL coating would make the surface of the HPL coated plate even more resistant. The campervan furniture board made of plywood poplar would in the same step, however, also become harder. The DIY camper furniture is then only conditionally possible.
Thick HPL coated, the cut edges splinters very easily, the coated wood will be unsightly and the HPL layer of your campervan conversion would be defective even before use. A good workmanship of such a camper furniture board, with smooth cutting edges can then be done only with a professional tool. With any normal saw, the cut edges of the camper furniture board would flake off and tear.
